This course is for anyone who wants to drape a saree properly, whether that is for your own wedding, for clients, or because you are tired of asking someone else to do it every time.

You start with the basic drape and neat pleats, then work through regional styles, fabrics that behave differently, and the finishing that makes a saree sit well on your body rather than fighting it.

Two very different sarees, two very different problems

A crisp Kanjivaram pleats sharply and stays where you put it. A soft silk with a heavy zari border slides, and needs pinning in places the first one never does.

Most tutorials teach one drape on one fabric. You will work across both, because the fabric in your wardrobe decides the technique, not the other way round.

Yes. We start with the basic drape and neat pleating before touching anything regional or bridal, so nobody is left behind on day one.

The standard drape, pleat and pallu variations, regional styles including Bengali, Gujarati and Maharashtrian, modern and fusion drapes, bridal drapes, pre-draped sarees and saree gowns.

That is most of the course. You drape repeatedly, on different fabrics, because a Kanjivaram and a georgette behave nothing alike and you only learn that with your hands.

Bring two or three if you can, ideally in different fabrics, so you practise on what is actually in your wardrobe. We have sarees at the studio if you cannot.
