Specialist Track
Bridal Makeup and Editorial Course in Hyderabad
Bridal is where most makeup artists in Hyderabad actually earn a living. It is also the hardest brief in the business: eleven hours of wear, close-up photography, and a client who will look at those photos for the rest of her life.

This track sits within the Makeup Master Course at Second Skin and focuses on the two areas that pay: bridal work, and the editorial skills that get you shoots and referrals.
You learn from Chakravarthi Kadali, who has spent 27 years working in the Indian film industry, on sets with Tamannaah, Rakul Preet Singh, Pooja Hegde, Krithi Shetty, Meenakshi Chaudhary and Pragya Jaiswal.
What you learn
Bridal makeup
- South Indian and North Indian bridal looks, and knowing when each applies.
- Building a base that survives a full day of functions in Hyderabad heat.
- HD and airbrush technique for close-up photography.
- Reception and sangeet looks, which are not simply a lighter version of the muhurtham face.
- Groom makeover, which most artists ignore and then get asked for on the day.
Hair and draping
- Bridal hairstyles including traditional and contemporary sets.
- Saree draping across regional styles.
- Flower work, including jasmine and traditional floral setting.
Editorial and shoot work
- Reading how a look photographs rather than how it appears in the room.
- Working to a brief and to a schedule with a photographer waiting.
- Building a portfolio from your own work during the course.
Why bridal is taught differently here
Most bridal training teaches you a look. That is the easy part. The hard part is everything around it.
- Timing. A 6am muhurtham means you start at 3am. You need to be fast and correct while half asleep.
- Family. You will have six relatives in the room with opinions. Managing that is a skill.
- Wear. Nine hours before the reception even begins, in Hyderabad weather.
- Photography. What reads beautifully in person can flashback white on camera.
Practising on real models is the only way this becomes instinct. You will not get it from watching.

Who this track suits
A good fit if
- You want to work weddings, which is the steadiest income in this trade.
- You are starting from zero and want a route to paid work.
- You already do makeup casually and keep getting asked by family.
- You want to add editorial and shoot work to existing bridal skills.
Probably not for you if
- You only want to do your own makeup better. The self-grooming course is cheaper and more suitable.
- You cannot attend in person. This cannot be taught over video.
What you leave with
- An international certificate from an ISO certified academy.
- Portfolio images from your own work, not stock shots.
- Kit guidance built around your budget.
- Introductions toward bridal, freelance and film opportunities.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need experience to join the bridal makeup course?
No. The track starts from skin preparation and core technique before moving into bridal work, so beginners and working artists both start on day one.
Does the bridal course cover hair and saree draping?
Yes. Bridal hairstyles, saree draping across regional styles, and flower work including jasmine setting are all part of the track.
Is airbrush included in the bridal training?
Yes. Airbrush and HD technique are taught because bridal work is photographed in close-up and needs to hold for a full day.
Will I be able to take paid bridal bookings afterwards?
That depends on you and your portfolio. The course gives you the technique, real practice, portfolio images and introductions. Nobody honest will guarantee you bookings.
Where is the bridal makeup course held?
At Second Skin Makeup Studio and Academy, Esteem Diamond, Hindi Nagar, Dwarakapuri, Punjagutta, Hyderabad 500082.
